In a attempt to train for my first full marathon, I have been running around our neighborhood. Sometimes, I find it hard to motivate myself to start running, so any deterrence may cause issues for me. In South Africa, the weather was good, and the roads were clean. Sometimes wind was a force to be reckoned with. In Texas, I even managed to run in temperatures of over 40C(105F), and I learned to really enjoy the heat. Running in Dongying has been a challenge, because it is dusty and the roads are uneven and dirty. Lately, I have been searching for beautiful spots that I can appreciate on my runs.
The past few weeks have been terribly cold! As you can see… We have to layer up!
The complexes around our school are very big.
Sunset over Poop Creek.
Justin’s beard is keeping his face warm.
I couldn’t get high enough to read this, but it was in English!!!
This open area is pretty. There are statues of elephants, giraffes, and penguins.
I have started running at lunch, because it is less cold then.
After work it gets dark, and very cold, FAST!!
One afternoon, after I had run for a long time, I looked up and saw this BEAUTIFUL tree. It literally took my breath away!! I am now so in love with this tree that I run to see it almost everyday!!
I took Justin to see my favorite tree. Always better when you share it with your best friend!
WOW!~ This tree makes me smile!
The roads have become gloomy, and all the green has disappeared from many of the roads.
The recent bout of cold weather has made running a little difficult… Puddles of half frozen, muddy rain. Yet we still try to run and make it fun!
This cute little guy is chained up near our school. He is always there, rain or shine!
Thankfully, he is not there when we go running at night.
