Pretty Garden Colors. Oh my… It is absolutely Be-You-Tiful around Qingdao lately! Unfortunately, most of the most breathtaking blossoms have fallen and have been swept away by wind and rain, but a different beauty remains. The trees are alive, bright green and new. The grass is full and lush. The skies are blue… we are happy and enjoying every second of it. We wish that it could always stay like this, alas we are clearly meant to live in a place with a year round climate such as what we are in right now. I don’t think that anything influences are overall mood as much as the weather and blue skies. Wherever we end up living after China, we will surely never take these things for granted ever again.
Within our apartment complex there is so much room for Elijah to roam and play. And as you can see, below, he is quite little among all of those massive old trees. I love that this is an older complex because most of the trees are tall and we can tell that they have been growing here for years. The ones pictured below are all a different color at the moment. So even though we are in the season completely opposite from Autumn, we get to experience these beautiful reds, oranges and yellows nonetheless. Behind them stand amazingly tall and slender green trees.
Today we called Grams in Texas while we were playing outside. I could barely get Elijah to slow down for a second to look at her, on FaceTime, but it was good to connect to home while we were outside and enjoying this incredible weather. We just can’t get enough!
Last night we had friends over for a braai on our balcony, and it was just so awesome to be able to sit outside until way after sunset and enjoy the pleasant temperature. This is surely the best time of the year, and even though I wish there wasn’t a winter here at all, it sure does make us appreciate these months even more.
