Justin’s mom has been making the most delicious banana bread for us since we arrived in Texas. When Fall arrived she switched to making Pumpkin Bread, and I fell in love with it. This loaf is moist, tasty and delicious warmed up with some butter spread on it.
A friend of mine, Casey, mentioned that she loved pumpkin bread, so I decided to try make her a loaf. And seeing as my Apple Pie was such a success, I thought that I might as well use this opportunity to use an oven. Once we move back to Asia, we will probably not have an oven for another year or so. Sue gave me her recipe and all the ingredients, and I set to making my first loaf of bread.
Justin had to help with the mixing.
We added chopped almonds and walnuts ~ A great addition!
Don’t forget the pumpkin… I almost did!
We put the mixture into the oven and then waited while it baked. As the smell filled the house, everyone began saying that they wanted to steal a slice of the bread once it came out of the oven. I had to convince them all to keep their hands off it so that I could take it to Casey the following day.
After all the pumpkin-fun we have experienced during fall in Texas, I have really grown to love pumpkins. I now see why they are so popular here! They orange colour is so fitting for all the Halloween and Thanksgiving festivities.
If I get an opportunity, I would like to try make some Zucchini bread.
I have heard that, like pumpkin bread, it is very tasty.
The final product.
Hhhmmm…. Pumpkin Bread.
