Tea, it’s a pretty big deal over here in China. Funny thing is, we don’t really drink Chinese Tea. I love Earl Grey tea, English Breakfast Tea, and Rooibos Tea. When I met him, Justin didn’t drink tea or coffee, and now he loves both of them. Just the other day he said that he was excited for the approaching cold season because it meant that it was almost time to drink tea again. Despite not really ever buying, or drinking, Chinese Tea, I decided to check out the China (Qingdao) International Tea Industry Exposition (aka the Qingdao Tea Exhibit) since it was being held in the Qingdao International Convention Center, which is located in the same road as our apartment complex. This was a 4 day event held from 23rd October to the 26th October 2015 at the Qingdao International Convention Center in Qingdao, China. This event showcased products from the Tea & Coffee industry, and the exhibitors gathered to present a wide range of products and services such as tea products, tea equipments, tea made items, vending machines and many more. To be honest, I really didn’t see too much tea or coffee… well, not as much as I expected for a Tea Exhibit. There was a lot of prepackaged, and freshly cooked, food – as you will see from the photos below – but not too much tea. Oh well, it was nice to walk around for while, and since this convention center is right next to our house, I don’t mind checking out any exhibitions that they might hold here. Most of them are free, so why not?
As usual, little man got stopped many times for photographs. When he is in his stroller he just sits and looks at the camera – sometimes he smiles, mostly he just stares. LOL! While he was walking around a lady crouched down to take a picture with him. When people do this, I don’t even bother stopping them… I figure that, in time, Elijah will make up his own mind about whether or not he wants to do this. The pictures below made me laugh. At first Eli smiled, and then he stuck his tongue out…
It looks like he is kidding around, but really his last canine tooth is poking through the gum and annoying him, so he was chewing on his thumb for some relief. Still, it was pretty good timing!
Elijah walked around for a bit, finding all sorts of things to point at and admire, and then he rode in an electronic care, which was really exciting for him. Look at that face, above image, he really liked the flashing screen and the moving of the car. With many people walking around, it was too difficult to let him wonder around so I soon had to put him back into his stroller.
Above, This is the craft beer that we tried after a recent hike up FuShan. We did a blog post on the craft brewery here – Strong Ale Works. It would have been funny if I went to a Tea Exhibit and only left with beer. Although I’m sure Justin would have been happy with that.
Not much tea going on, but a nice little walk around.
