QISS 5km Fun Run│On Sunday – the day before Halloween – we met with friends who work at the Qingdao No.1 International School (QISS). The school was hosting a 5km fun run which was to be held on the school campus. The theme of the run was Halloween, of course, so we dressed up and headed off for some fun. All week long, the weather forecast had shown that Sunday would be extremely cold – in fact, it was supposed to ice over – but on the day, the skies were blue and it actually felt really pleasant outside! What a relief to us, because we didn’t feel like walking this 5k in jackets, scarves and gloves.
It was a very relaxed morning. We walked the course (well, most of it) chatting to old and new friends. We wished that our good friends, Trent and Angie, were still here. They worked for this school before they moved back to Texas. Through them, and random other parties and events, we have come to know a number of QISS teachers. They are a really fun group of people!
Since Justin’s Ash costume didn’t arrive during the weekend, we were not able to do our originally planned matching family outfit. Instead, he dressed as a nerd, I was Picachu and Eli was the Pokemon ball.
Here are some pictures from Sunday…
Little Cooper was dressed as Superman – Oh my gosh, he was adorable!
It is hard for me to fathom, but this is the same child that I did a newborn shoot for almost a year ago. It feels like yesterday!
For finishing the 5km fun run, we all received a 50rmb voucher for Yummy Box. We love this awesome little restaurant, and the BEST PART about it, is that it is located about a block from our apartment. YES! We love places that are closeby. This restaurant has great decor, and serves delicious pizzas and other western food. We will definitely do a blog post on them when we go use these vouchers.
A great family event.
Thank You QISS!
