Quiet Moments Over Iced Coffee. There are those moments in life which feel like a dream, and you want to stay in that sweet space forever. Most of those moments, for me, are when I’m sitting outside, or in sunlight. A few weeks ago, all three of us went on a long walk along the coast of Qingdao, with the Grand High School students. We took a lot of fun photos, and if you missed those, you can see them HERE. After our walk, we went to The Canvas to have brunch and some coffee. They have a great special there – if you go for breakfast/ brunch, you get a free bottomless coffee with your meal. Since coffee (anywhere you go) is quite pricey, you have got us hooked if you throw in a free BOTTOMLESS coffee. We asked for ours to come iced, and then we sat at a window and spent some quality time together. Usually I am behind the camera, but Justin took a few photos of me, and I really love this one… It perfectly captures our time spent at that window, relaxing and chatting, in the brilliant sunlight.
Elijah was asleep when we arrived, so we sort of felt like we were on a date. When he woke up he ate some food and then watched a few programs on Justin’s phone. Hence the goofy smile on his face…. he is not grinning at the glass on the table! Despite the bottomless coffees we consumed, we started to feel the exhaustion from the early morning wake-up and the kilometers covered along the coast with the students.
A wonderful brunch and quiet time spent relaxing in each other’s presence. I am so thankful for these two, and the joy that they add to my life. As the temperature rises, so does my appreciate for iced coffee… so you’ll probably be seeing us sipping on these quite a bit in the coming months!
