Red Barn Cafe & Animal Park
Located 8km north of Murchison, Red Barn Cafe is a great cafe in a lovely rural setting. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, you can choose from a selection of delicious homemade food from the blackboard menu and cabinet, including some tasty pies and tempting sweet treats. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating where you can relax with a coffee while the children play on the lawn. This is our dream type-place – both before and since becoming parents.
Popular with families, there is also a small animal park where you can feed a range of friendly farm animals including sheep, goats, donkeys, emus and geese. We made a pit stop here for lunch, have some coffee, and use the restrooms. The food looked amazing – but the cafe was quite busy while we were there so we decided we wouldn’t eat there.
This is definitely a good road trip stop!
The following three photos were taken by Thy N – TripAdvisor. We didn’t spend much time out at the back of the Red Barn Cafe, so I didn’t have much time to get good photos of the animals. These give you a good idea of what you’d see at the Cafe in terms of animals…
There was an old tractor, a large rabbit hutch and a practice cow milking station. Eli loved all of it, and didn’t want to leave. Of course, we don’t blame him?? This was way better than sitting in the back of the car!
Great fun. A nice stop!
