Last year certainly had it’s highs and lows. Almost everyone we know struggled quite a bit in 2015, and I guess that it’s normal to have an “off year” very now and again. As we sit a reflect on the year that just passed (and boy oh boy did it pass quickly) we remember the moments of exhilaration – the travel, the celebrations, and the opportunities we had to see all of our parents meet our son for the first time. We also remember the moments of sadness – the loses, the mistakes, the friends who have moved on, and the moments that we wish had never happened. Once thing is for sure, 2015 was not a year for fitness! We weren’t consistent, we didn’t watch what we ate, and overall we were not too healthy. In many ways I think that 2015 was just too busy, and when we are too busy we can’t stay focused on what is really important to us.
Some people don’t like making new years resolutions because they never end up sticking to them. Personally, I love that chance to star over. It is very motivating to know that a whole new year, full of possibilities, lies before me. Even though I do like New Years Resolutions, I’m going to call these “Commitments”…
We both commit to…
Not working too hard.
Setting dates, reading books, and being intentional.
Reaching out and making new friends.
Running, stretching, and working those muscles!
Traveling to new places.
AND Making the most of 2016!!
