Ruth’s Beautiful Bump│Sneak Peak
On Saturday morning I went down to “our backyard” (ie. the area at the far end of our apartment complex) to check the lighting and get some shoot ideas. Ruth was going to meet me there at 1pm for a maternity shoot, and I wanted to be sure that the leaves were still there and in good form. It was cloudy and cold, but the lighting was perfect!
When we returned to this area at 1pm, the sun was shining brightly! My heart sank. Although nicely covered by trees this area does not provide very even shading. That can mean nasty bright sunlight spots and pockets of harsh shadows. I thought that the shoot was going to be extremely challenging, but it turned out great in the end. Sure, we had to work around some areas of direct sunlight, but this was one of those cases where I was thankful for a relaxed subject. We got some really pretty pictures of Ruth, and her beautiful round belly. Her second little boy (third child) is due early next month, and I will be doing his newborn shoot too.
For now, just a little sneak peak at her maternity shoot.
