Sarrella & Her Ugly Step Sisters
On Monday, our friend Sarrah turned 25. While we were hanging on as pirates, on Halloween, we had mentioned that it would be fun to do a monthly dress-up party. If it was your birthday that month, then you could choose the theme of the party. Of course, on that evening, Sarrah mentioned her birthday, but so did everyone else… so I completely forgot! Last Saturday, when Misti mentioned Sarrah’s birthday, I knew that she would enjoy a dinner party with a little surprise twist! One of the themes that we had spoken about for November was “Ugly Step Sisters”, so that was what I decided to go with. Justin and I brainstormed and came up with a “Sarrella and her Ugly Sisters” theme. (Cinderella + Sarrah = Sarrella)
Usually putting a party together becomes quite an involved ordeal, but I LOVED that this all came together so effortlessly and easily. There was no time to order anything online, very little time to make anything, and therefore, very little organization. Despite the last minute planning, Sarrah’s dinner party did, however, come together perfectly!
I am very thankful for all of the party supplies that I have collected up over previous events… and of course, Pinterest can bring ANY IDEA together! This Cinderella theme was surprisingly simple. I used one of my sparkly stilettos for the shoe, covered two of our fall pumpkins with gold glitter, and the rest I had in my party supplies. And yes, those are real pumpkins!
Sarrah, Misti and I are all doing no sugar, no flour, and no grains, so I knew that they would be totally fine with a fat bomb “cake”. I was going to bake a keto chocolate cake but Monday was a little insane for me – so fat bombs it was!
Cinderella’s Little Mice
The boys were good sports and both put on some ears, whiskers, and a cute little nose. We had Cinderella, the ugly steps sisters, so we needed some mice to complete the party!
Justin – always the joker – made Sarrah a really funny card. We all have nicknames from our Halloween evening, but Sarrah’s seems to be the one sticking the most. hehehe!
After dinner we took a few pictures, and I am so glad that we did. As I have mentioned before, I often forget about this part of the evening (especially if I am hosting) and I always regret it later. Yes yes, pretty ironic since I am a photographer at heart!
The birthday girl turned 25! And she LOVED that I brought out the candles on fat bombs.
It was so cute to see her face light up the way that it did!
