Saturday Stroll: Grand Theatre. On Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early and decided that we would go for a little walk around the surrounding neighborhood. The weather forecast showed that the temperatures would rise to a whopping 33ºC with the humidity at 85%, so we knew that we needed to be out and then back before the hottest time of the day. A walk along the coastline sounded good, but we barely made it a block from the beach. We ended up stopping at Qingdao Grand Theatre which was a dream come true for Elijah since he LOVES climbing stairs. You might remember this stunning architectural design from an earlier blog post. This is one of my favorite places to run loops. The perimeter is exactly 1km, so it is the perfect place to get in a nice long run without having to plot or plan a route. And even better…. no potholes, traffic or pedestrians to distract from the run. We have never been here to play, but we will surely be back soon because Eli loves playing on the stairs outside of the Opera Hall.
There they are (above) at the top of the Opera Hall stairs. Elijah loves to run in and out of doors, especially the ones that turn. For some reason, Eli’s tongue was out a lot while he played on this Saturday morning.
After a nice time, playing in the shade and running up and down the stairs, we crossed the road and settled at DejaVu for some brunch and ice coffees. We will definitely be heading back to the Grand Theatre again soon.
