September is definitely one of my top months in China. Even when I lived in the Southern Hemisphere, September was pretty awesome because it brought in the end of winter and the warmer temperature started to pop up. Up here, in the north, September means cooler temperatures, beautiful skies, and lots of uncrowded beach time!
We returned to China in August, but we were sick and Eli wasn’t transitioning well, so that month was sort of a blur. In September, although not straight away, things started to level out. We loved the sunsets, the beach visits, the evening walks, and the quality of our time outdoors. Here is a look at some of our favorite pictures, which for the most part, didn’t get onto the blog. You may have seen a few of them if you follow our Traveling with Jc instagram account.
We enjoyed some beautiful early evenings outside, walking and playing ball. Eli enjoyed rides on his scooter, and playdates with friends. Almost everywhere he goes, he now wears a backpack, and it is so darn adorable!
Justin brought home a beautiful bouquet of red roses for me. How romantic!
Look at this little guy – he would rather lean over to the yogurt, then pick it up to sip it! He loves this mattress that is on our bedroom window seat. He sits there as often as he can, playing with toys or watching people outside. I often sit there too, drinking coffee and editing pictures. It is such a comfy spot!
We attended the German Wine Festival at the Yacht Club during September. It was an outdoor event, but thankfully despite the constant rain, it wasn’t too cold and the event was held under a huge white tent. Live music, tons of food options, and wine, of course.
Eli was fascinated by the fact that he could see the ocean below us. Above you can see him looking through the wooden floor planks at the water. He also found great enjoyment in watching some friends play games on a phone…
He has never been a climber, but he did manage to get onto the kitchen counter for some almonds this month. I know that he CAN climb, but he just isn’t that bothered to do it. Don’t worry about that window – there is no way that he can get out of it! Not a chance – It is a fixed window that doesn’t open or slide.
Piggy-back rides on Ice. I have really enjoyed my meetings with Ice recently but sadly our meetings stopped at the end of September. Last year we stopped meeting while work got busy for me, with Dylan coming day and photoshoots being plentiful. This year it is her work that is busy. She hopes to return in a couple of months, or at least by January. I know that Eli is going to miss her – he really enjoys having her over “to play”.
This was the view from our balcony for most of September…
We were surprised to find that our favorite little Korean take-out spot has expanded their menu. The new dishes are YUMMMYYYYYY!!! We love this grilled squid and garlic dish. One sunny afternoon, we sat here for a couple of hours. Eli was loving his newest stickers (we are 100% into the sticker stage!) and we were enjoying THIS…
And there you have it, those are some of our favorite “unseen” pictures from September. It was really a wonderful month. The weather is about to get considerably colder, but we will hold onto those beautiful September vibes for a little while longer.
Believe it or not, even though we are complete summer-babies, we are looking forward to the brisk Autumn evening temperatures. Every time we get a cool breeze, both of us get a little excited! Of course, by the time the bitter cold arrives we will be more than happy to jump on that plane head to the Philippines for Christmas!
