Positioned on Temple Square in SLC, the Salt Lake Temple stands among the downtown high-rise buildings and super malls. This Temple was the fourth one built in Utah (though its construction was started first) and the first in Salt Lake Valley.
The Temple is a worldwide icon of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, popularly known as the Mormon Church. At the visitors centre we got to see the inside of the main temple in the form of a model replica. Entry to this building is reserved only for those of the mormon faith, so we could not go in to even look around.
There were pictures and descriptions of the life of Jesus surrounding this replica. Once you pushed a button, the relevant area would light up on the model. We found this to be very interesting and informative.
