On Friday afternoons Justin teaches a couple extra classes. These are located at a kindergarten about 20 minutes away from where we live. A Chinese co-teacher comes to pick him up, and he gets dropped off too. This is pretty convenient for him, and we appreciate the extra money that we can save from these additional lessons. Last Friday, when Justin returned from his classes, we decided to go out and get some dinner and then buy some drinks to take home. The wind was howling and we thought that a night in with wine, board games, and a couple movies, would be a good idea. On the way back from the grocery store we got caught in a crazy storm. The rain was bucketing down, and the wind was so strong that it was setting off car alarms. We didn’t have too far to walk, but the lightning and strong winds were quite intimidating! Is dangerous crossing a road here in the broad daylight, never mind during the night when visibility is low!
We made it home safely, and agreed that it was definitely a great idea to have stocked up on snacks and drinks for the night-in. While we watched a movie and drank some wine, we left our door open… The air outside was humid, and the lightning kept filling the sky with flashes of brightness. I love watching lightning storms!
We were happy just spending the night at home, so we settled down with a movie and glass of wine. A little bit later, Josh called saying that a group of foreigners were going out for the night. One of the girls, who I spent time with last week, was begging for me to come out and see all of them. Haha, it’s been a while since we had friends calling us and begging us to go spend time with them.
Justin and I turned off the movie, and put on some loud music. It was almost 11pm but we knew that the crowd would still be out for a while, so we wanted to go meet up with them. We took a cab to a new place, called “Kiss”. A foreigner who we know (who has been living here for 2-3years) works there, and her Chinese is amazing! After her shift ended, we all moved to another club, in fact, the same one we went to last week for the Angry Bird Party (click on the link to view those pictures).
Have a look at some of the pictures from our Friday night..
I think that Josh was happy that we joined them! 🙂
At first only Eileen, Justin and myself were dancing, but later others joined us.
Someone’s got to get the party started!
Josh hanging out with Chinese friends
We met some great new people.
There seemed to be a lot of glasses floating around. Justin always gets his hands on a pair or two!
A group of Chinese guys, dressed in satin shirts, got on the stage and proceeded to do the Macarena dance. It was absolutely hilarious, especially because they did it so methodically. No smiles, just the Macarena arms movements to a Chinese song.
We had quite a few good laughs!
Justin and Josh had a great time!
Playas be playin!
