After we spent some time exploring Nanputuo Temple, we hiked The Mountain of Five Old Men to reach some caves. The temple grounds were crowded because we were visiting on a national holiday. We tried to escape the masses by wandering off, and fortunately, we found a few spots where there were not many people. It was quiet and peaceful.
Taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Climbing up to the caves.
We found a cave filled with thousands of old buddhist statues. They were old and dusty, and I assume that they are only used for a certain period of time before they are thrown out.
Hmm.. Kind of creepy!
Sometimes Justin’s too daring for me! The cliff behind him was very steep, and high!

The Tishita Building – A place where many people were converted to Buddhism.
Over 100 monks work and study here at this temple. They are all vegetarian, and they get up at 4:30am every morning to chant. This is done to purify there minds. When we passed by the above building, we heard the monks chanting.
Some macro shots of the flowers blooming around the temple.
