Squatters – Roadhouse Grill & Pub
We took a family trip to Squatters to have lunch, and to celebrate being healthy, happy and together. Drew had the day off so we decided to use this opportunity to socialize. On the day that Justin and I arrived in Park City, Maxine and Drew took us to this restaurant to welcome us. That was two weeks ago, and Maxine was heavily pregnant!
This time little Charles joined us in a different way…
Sue and Max try to eat little Charles. He’s very cute, the natural urge is to try and gobble him up! I like to go for his toes, but it looks like Sue is going for the cheeks!
Wow, look at her going in for a BIG BITE!
Even though the skies were grey and the wind was howling, we wanted to sit outside because the air felt cool and refreshing. Mel and I started to feel the chill after a few minutes!
First up: Chips, Salsa, Refried Beans and Guacamole.
Sue gives Charles a big kiss!
A toast: “To Charles, Welcome to the World”
When the skies opened we all dashed inside to find cover from the storm.
We made it inside just in time for our burgers! My burger had mozzarella cheese and an egg on it. The fries still had the skin on (which I love), and they were covered with garlic! Delicious!
*Way too many calories to mention!*
Later that night we ventured downtown. Sue insisted on staying home with Charles. That is, of course, what grandparents do! We really appreciated this because it meant that Drew and Maxine got a night out on the town with us.
The party started before we even left the parking lot. Drew and Maxine sandwich-in Luke for a dance.
Can you tell how much fun Luke is having?!
Me and Melissa sat at the bar chatting for a while.
Being a Thursday, we got to enjoy a bit of singing at the Cowboy Karaoke Bar.
Luke, Maxine and Melissa break it down to a bit of Bon Jovi.
A moose on Main Street
Later, we took a walk through the streets. I thought that the shops and sights were all great. I can tell that this is a hot spot in the winter months when the ski slopes are full of tourists. During the summer months there are barely any people here. In this city, the tourist population greatly exceeds the number of permanent residents.

A painting on Main Street
There are many art galleries and cute little stores. Being night-time, I could only look into the windows, but I was excited to come back to Main Street during the day.
We entered a club called Downstairs.
There were only about 5 other people there, so we had the whole dance floor to ourselves. Summer months must be tough on the local businesses in Park City. Melissa and I kept requesting songs, but the DJ seemed to be playing to an invisible crowd. He was playing what HE wanted, and he didn’t care for our requests! We danced for a while, and then decided to retire for the evening.
Melissa and I outside Downstairs.
Waiting for our lift.
We often do this when we are in the back of a car. I have TONS of silly pictures of the three of us! They are hilarious to look at. That’s just one of the goofy things that we do when we are together.
“No, don’t look at me!” (Mel’s celebrity pose)
Last stop – McDonald’s!
Going without Justin was a bummer for me,
But I enjoyed hanging out with my girls!!
More coming soon,
