Heather knows me all too well ~ fruit covered in chocolate is the most awesome thing to get me. Sadly, flowers die, and unfortunately, a box of chocolate is full of empty calories. But THIS… oooh, Yum yum!! ~ PERFECT!!
Hmmm… this edible bouquet only lasted about two days!
Heather and I met in South Korea at a church in Seoul. Her and her hubby, Zachary, were teaching English as well, and they are from Texas, like Justin. After a few months of spending time with them, Zach and Heather told us that they were going to teach in China. This was disappointing news for us because we wanted to spend more time with them. So, a month later, when they told us that there were another two teaching positions available at the school that they were going to, we jumped at the opportunity to join them! We lived near to them in China, and worked side by side for a year. Unfortunately, this was a trying time for our friendship. I am still not sure why.
I hope that Heather doesn’t mind me sharing this, but our journey has been a rocky one. We have faced some tough times in our relationship, but we have managed to battle through them. I feel that even though we no longer live in the same country anymore, we seem to grow closer and closer every week. The hard times have brought us closer, and we have leant a lot about ourselves in the process!! I love how caring, thoughtful, crafty, and passionate she is, and I have grown to love her dearly. Her surprise gift this week really meant a lot to me!!!
…And in China (climbing Tai Shan).
Thank you for your loving support Heather!
You are a wonderful friend!
