I thought that I would blog about this since it’s such a good idea, and forgive me if all of you HAVE heard of this website (or similar ones), but I never had before! Our church communities here are so wonderful. When someone has a baby, people volunteer to take the family cooked meals for the two weeks after they get home from the hospital. The website that they use is this one: Take Them a Meal, and it allows friends and family to sign up for a day and say what meal they will be taking the family. This is such a great idea, and not only for those with newborn children, but also for someone who is sick, struggling, or just needing a little extra love. We really love this idea!
I already introduced you to Little Miss Thea who was born nearly two weeks ago here in Qingdao. Justin and I have become close with her awesome parents – they go to our church – and we enjoy hanging out and enjoying meals with them. On Saturday we took them some take-out from one of their favourite restaurants, and we got to hold sweet baby Thea. She looked so small and adorable in Justin’s arms – being around her makes us very excited to meet our little one!
We are going over to their place on Tuesday night again to take something homemade to enjoy for dinner. We simply love this idea, and the fact that we can help out people who need time to rest.
