Even though Justin and I have been together for over a year, we have traveled to a few countries together, and he had met my family, in South Africa… I still hadn’t met his!
We were very excited for this trip to Texas, especially because
we had planned to surprise Justin’s family, by arriving two weeks earlier than they knew!!
Left, We took a one hour bus ride to Incheon Airport, and even right at the start of our journey from Korea to Texas, I was solo excited! Middle, Our flight left very early in the morning, and catching a bus then might mean we would be late, so we slept at the airport. Right, Justin’s (first) travel injury. He has a habit of injuring himself (hands or feet) while we travel.
Well, Justin got more sleep than me.
We landed in Dallas, and we were so excited!!!!
Enrique picked us up from the airport.
He was the only one who knew about us coming early to Texas.
Justin’s family were so happy to see us!
The day that we arrived, the air conditioner was broken,
and it was 35 C (95 F) INSIDE the house!!!!
How nice to drive around again!!
This was the first time we played Bananagrams. We are now hooked on this game!!
The Parents – Sue and Bryan
Pretty flowers around the house
We sent these from Korea, Jeju Island.
I ran almost everyday.. Justin would leave a cold bottle of water under the tree for me. Each time I finished a lap (1.3 miles), the bottle would be refilled. It was 40 C most of the time, so I NEEDED it!!
What a sweetheart!! 🙂
This is the beanbag game. No explanation necessary… Just aim, and throw!
We put this up for July 4th weekend.
Justin, Bryan and Nick, playing Beanbags.
Chilling in the pool with Rhodes, Casey, Nick, and Sue.
Rhodes got “Iced”!!
Margarita’s at Chilli’s
Justin enjoyed a Dos Equus
Late night fun in the pool.
Dinner at Cheddar’s.
Lunch at Chilli’s.
Lunch at Chilli’s.
After being missing for almost three years, I found Justin’s university ring!! haha
We were lucky enough to meet Enrique Jnr before we left.
I wanted to stay at the hospital, and keep holding the baby!!!
Our new friend Cindy. We met, randomly, in the travel section of Barnes and Nobles. Cindy and her husband (John) are great people, and we look forward to seeing them again, when we return to Texas.
All packed, and ready to go. Sue and I spent HOURS sewing those patches onto the backpacks.
Enrique came by to say Good-bye.
Final Good-byes at the Airport
This was a wonderful vacation, and I will never forget the time that we spent with Justin’s family and friends. They all welcomed me into their homes like I was part of the family. Justin and I left feeling very sad that we wouldn’t be “home” for a while.
What a blessing to know that Justin has an amazing family,
And that one day we have a home waiting for us.
