Our sweet friends, The Chen Family, came to Qingdao after about a year in the States. We were thrilled that they would be back in Qingdao for a week, and even more so that they would be staying with us for a couple nights. Amber went with me to most of my prenatal check ups, and she was in the delivery room translating what the nurses were saying when I gave birth to Elijah. To be honest, she became the last minute designated photographer too because there was no way that Justin could move from my side. The Chen’s are back in China for good now, but sadly they won’t be living in the same city as us anymore. They have moved down south, but we are happy that we can hop on a train/ plane and go see them. We don’t mind being separated by a few provinces, but a couple continents is just too much.
Here are some pictures of the time that we spent together while they were visiting us…
Please note: We do not know this lady. This is just one example of a completely random stranger loving on our child. haha – she was over the moon to hold this blue eyed child. She kept saying how big his eyes were.
Elijah and Violet share some biscuits…
The last time that we saw Amber, she was pregnant with her second child. In fact, she was pregnant while she was in the delivery room with us, but she didn’t know it yet. We all just thought that she had a bad cold. Even though she was sick – I wouldn’t let her not be in the room, haha! There is no way to describe child birth while not understanding anything going on around you. Your body is already going through so much – there is no time/ energy for a game of charades. While The Chen’s were in the States… Little James was born.
Good times with special friends.
We are looking forward to a trip down south to visit them.
