This restaurant is the hot spot of Austin, Texas, located 450 feet above Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country. The OASIS is known, worldwide, for it’s spectacular views of the sunsets over the lake. Justin had never been here himself, so he was excited for us both to see this amazingly appealing piece of Austin together. This is a premier location for locals and guests who want to experience the unique Austin flavour.
The journey to Oasis took us through the winding roads of “Hill Country”, Austin. We were feeling very tired from our long day of Tail-Gating at the UT stadium, and we only managed to get a short nap in while we were at a friend’s house. Not recognizing our plans for the day, we were wondering how we would make it through dinner without falling asleep.
After Oasis we headed to a friend’s bar, The Workhorse, in Austin. Justin knows the owners, Steve and Brent, from his days at the University of Texas. The bar has a great outdoor section at the back, with wooden tables and chairs. We sat there for an hour or two trying out beers and cocktails.

We ended the night at Steve’s house, and that is where we were we had organised to sleep for the next two nights. He has a pool table at home, so we hung out there playing pool and card games until early in the morning. This was a long day for Justin and I, but well worth it.
The following morning we went to see the beautiful Lady Bird Lake.
