Verona in Love│AirBnb. We love to do posts about our favorite places to stay while we travel – and this particular one was worth remembering. At this point in our European Road Trip, we were trying to book guests houses for about 2-3 nights in advance. We were pleased when we started talking to Anna, and her son Simone. They always responded so quickly and were happy to give any information we needed! We arrived in Verona late in the afternoon, and we were really hoping that this room was going to be a nice place for us to rest. There is always an element of risk when booking on AirBnb. You can’t always be sure what you find when you arrive, but we still really enjoy traveling this way. It is almost always a very positive experience! If it was just the two of us, then there would be less “risk” but since we are traveling with Eli there are a few extra things to think about.
When we arrived in Verona, we were pleased to find that our room was located to one side of this large Italian apartment. Since the apartment has two floors, we basically had the whole downstairs, but your bedroom was large enough so we mostly stayed there while we were not sightseeing. Our host, Anna, and her son, Simone, were very warm and welcoming. They sat down with us, and went over a map of Verona. They helped us make decisions for the following day, and they even lent us a map of the city. Eli had so much space to run around and explore. He loved to play on the balcony off our room.
On our second night here, Justin and I stopped at a grocery store and picked up champagne, cheese, crackers and other delicious snacks. We put Eli to bed and then sat on the balcony, watched the sun set. It was the perfect date night! We were amazed at how late the sky stayed light while we were in Europe.
Since there was a bus stop just across the road from the apartment, and the bus ride to the center of Verona was quick and cheap, we left our car there for the two days that we were in Verona. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Verona, and we would highly recommend staying with this lovely family.
Anna & Simone were the perfect hosts.
