Mommy this week – Still recovering from the nasty cold that I picked up last week, and unfortunately this meant that I was feeling miserable for the first half of the week. With each day I got a little better, and as you can see in the second picture above, I was back to normal when weekly picture time arrived. Thankfully, on Christmas Eve I was feeling amazing and was able to enjoy opening presents with Justin.
How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: I’m down 1 pound this week, but I was down even a more a few days ago. A few days ago I was down by about 4 pounds but because of all the water I am retaining, it’s hard to say what my actual weight is.
Stretch Marks? No new ones.
Sleep: Sleeping like a baby this week. Been getting to bed early, and sleeping right through. However I’m not drinking nearly enough water, so I would probably be waking up needing the toilet if I was. I’m awful at remembering to drink water.
Best moment of the week: When Justin brought home the Christmas decorations which had been delivered to school that day. We ordered them online last recently, but I stayed home from school a couple days this week, so seeing him come in the front door with our decorations was awesome! Now that the apartment is decorated, it feels so cozy and festive. An even better moment was the last day of week 14 – Christmas Eve – sitting next to our tree, and opening up our presents together (especially the ones for baby)!
Miss Anything? Family and Friends!
Baby Movement: Not yet, but waiting very eagerly for the moment I feel baby moving! I can’t describe how excited I am for this.
Food Cravings: No – nothing really. How boring!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just the bad smells in our house, and around China. We are going to get all the drains replaced in our bathroom, and maybe that will help a little bit. I can’t go near the smell of oily food or my nausea returns – this is difficult since our neighbours seem to cook everything in oil and the smell comes right into our kitchen. Not too sure if there’s anything that can be done about this.
Gender: Still pretty obsessed with the thought it’s a little baby girl.
Labor Signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Every now and again I get queasy, but it is mostly caused by external influences, like the bad smells. They are everywhere! Not feeling much pregnancy symptoms this week. I actually don’t feel pregnant at all – I am just trying to fully recover from my cold. Feeling odd nausea towards the end of the week, but it doesn’t feel like the morning sickness did – I think it’s more because of the excess mucous due to my cold.
Bellybutton in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Off
Looking forward to: The whole week I was looking forward to Christmas, and when I woke up feeling healthy and happy on Christmas Eve, I was so thankful for the perfect timing!
Baby this week – The size of a nectarine! Little one has almost doubled in size since last week and keeps growing at an amazing speed. All of the internal organs formed during the 1st trimester, and they will continue to mature from now until birth. Baby is possibly sucking his/ her thumb, squinting, frowning, and wiggling those little toes! Oh my gosh – my baby has toes – this thought alone makes me melt inside. I can’t wait to kiss those toes!! Thanks to brain impulses, the facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. The kidneys are making urine, and the spleen is doing its job too. The growing lanugo – a thin, peach-like hair, all over the body – will help to keep baby warm unless more fat develops.
