How far along? 23 Weeks. Wow – the weeks are moving by too quickly now. I want them to slow down! I’m enjoying being pregnant and I want it to go as slowly as possible right now.
Where’s the pause button?
Sleep: Great – no issues at all. Sleeping soundly, like my baby!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Feeling wonderful… no queasiness.
Gender: It’s a BABY BOY!! We will announce his name soon… It’s getting harder and harder not to say anything, so we will perhaps let all of you know in a few weeks.
Symptoms: My linea nigra disappeared a little when I got my beautiful golden tan in Thailand, but already now that tan is beginning to fade and the linea nigra is getting darker. Some people say that they don’t like this dark line which appears just below the belly button (and sometimes above it too), but I think it’s beautiful and I like that I am getting one. I am finding it hard to remember simple things this week, and apparently this “foggy” mind is completely normal in pregnancy. Thankfully it is not permanent because I feel like an old person who can’t recall where I am going, why I went to the kitchen, or what I did yesterday. In the last couple of days I have felt VERY confused at times… hahaha, I can only laugh it off! I am definitely starting to feel the “nesting” urge, but that may also be due to the fact that we were away for a month, and now that we are back I know we won’t leave China again until baby boy arrives.
Baby this week – The size of a eggplant! He is 11 inches long, and weighs just over a pound. Our little doll-sized babe is about to chub up a bit. His saggy skin will start to fit his frame as fat deposits fill things out. Beginning this week, he’ll start to pack on the pounds, and by the end of the month he’ll be double the weight he is now! Right now, baby’s organs and bones are visible through his skin, which is a red hue due to the developing veins and arteries beneath. Once his fat deposits settle in, his skin will become less transparent. Our little man is beginning to recognise my voice, and he can hear loud external sounds – like dogs barking, cars honking, and my grade 3 students when they are overly crazy!!
