Stretch Marks? Still no new stretch marks.
Sleep: I woke up on Friday with the worst backache I have felt in a long time. It felt like my lower back had been through a strenuous muscle training program, and yet I had done no exercise at all. I figured that I must have slept in an odd position so the following night we switched to a larger “body-pillow” (our couch has amazing long pillows of different lengths). After 2 nights of not sleeping resultful I was back back to sleeping soundly again. Phew!
Miss Anything? I can’t say that I miss much except running and feeling fit. I wish that I had started this pregnancy at a fitter level but it’s too late to fret about that now. All those months away from work, traveling, and trying to sort out visas, threw me out of schedule.
Baby this week – As long as an ear of corn. He weighs more than a pound and a half now, and has a crown-to-rump length of eight and a half inches. Every week our baby gets closer and closer to being able to survive in the outside world. His nostrils are opening now for the “practice breathing” – he will go through the same motions of real breathing but inhale amniotic fluid instead of air. Little one’s beautiful face (though still tiny) is almost fully formed. Baby’s see-through skin is gradually becoming more and more opaque around now, and it’s got a new pink glow – thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.
