Sleep: Sleeping wonderfully – but only possible with a big long pillow supporting my belly and keeping my hips straight. We didn’t buy a special preggo-pillow because they are way too overpriced here. Instead we just improvised — our couch has amazing long pillows of varying sizes and those have been perfect for my body as it has grown over the last few months!
My Linea Nigra (barely there… but getting darker)
Symptoms: My hunger is steadily increasing – nom nom nom! No leg cramps this week. Minimal heartburn. Stretching feeling in lower abdomen – baby must be going through another growth spurt. Energy levels high and feeling super-duper every day – still riding the “second trimester wave”!! To all those negative people telling me, “Oh yeah, you feel good now, but just wait until the last weeks of your pregnancy when you’ll HATE being pregnant!”. Thanks for the useless feedback – you guys are rays of sunshine to a pregnant woman’s day!
(Sarcastic tone fully intended!)
Baby this week – The size of an acorn squash. He is 9 inches long from head to bum!! Baby is now developing a firm grasp and may reach out and grab the umbilical cord. He can also stick out his tongue now, and that thought alone is super cute! Little one is growing more fat and more hair too, and he is enjoying a new sense of equilibrium – he knows which way is up and which way is down. Later this week, blood vessels will also develop in baby’s lungs, bringing them one step closer to full maturity – and one step closer to taking that first breath of fresh air. But at 25 weeks, those lungs are still very much in progress. Stay in there as long as you like baby – We want you to be strong and healthy when you come out to play!
