How far along? 28 weeks
Sleep: Perfect! Someone lent me a preggo-pillow and it’s been a super comfy addition to our bed. The pillows I was using before were fine, but they were beginning to get a little small for my every expanding belly. The preggo-pillow is great however it makes me very hot during the night — Time to turn on the air-conditioner, I guess!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing at all.
Symptoms: Some water retention when I don’t drink enough, and swelling in my ankles when I stand too much. My heartburn flared up more this week than last week. No lower belly pressure this week, but if I sit for too long I feel pain in my pelvic area. Nothing that a quick walk doesn’t cure though. Thankfully I am still working because I might feel this a lot more than I do if I was sitting at home everyday.
What I’m wearing: I’m still very comfy in the dresses and tights that I bought in Thailand. The weather is changing, and believe it or not, I have no flat shoes except Uggs and running shoes, so I need to find something pregnancy-suitable for the warmer months that are approaching.
STILL waiting on the landlord to come and fix a few things. He seems to be M.I.A!
Baby this week –
The size of a kabocha squash! Baby is now beginning to settle into the proper position for birth, with his head facing downwards (toward my body’s nearest exit!). I feel his little feet moving just below my chest, so I know when his head is facing downwards. Our little work in progress is now about 2.2 pounds in weight and about 15-16 inches long. He’s busy adding new skills such as blinking to an already impressive range of tricks like coughing, sucking, hiccuping, and taking practice breaths. Baby’s sleep now includes the REM (rapid eye movement) phase – and that means he could be dreaming already.
