At my Baby Shower last month, Heather placed a little book on the table and allowed the ladies to sign it with good wishes and words of encouragement. After the party, once everyone had left and we had carried all the gifts home, I got to read those messages. I asked those who had sent gifts but were not able to come to the shower (since they live in other countries), to send me a couple of lines that I could add to the book. I eventually put all of it together, with some photos from the shower and now I have a mini-scrapbook with messages from all my beautiful ladies here and abroad. I love my little book of Encouragement and Love. Thanks to those who sent and wrote messages!
This beautiful message was written by Heather, but it comes from God… And it was very sweet!!
“My Princess. Your real beauty is a work of art carved by Me. I have given you beautiful lips to speak words of life, beautiful eyes to see Me in everything, beautiful hands to help those in need, and a beautiful face to reflect My Love to the World. I know you don’t see yourself as I do because you compare yourself to beauty idols that will soon be forgotten. I will work wonders that will radiate true beauty from within. And when My work is completed, your character will show off My craftsmanship, and your beauty marks will be remembered by all that were loved by you.
Love, Your Radiant King”
It’s really not easy to do creative things like this in China, which is a pity because I enjoy getting crafty. There are no craft stores and finding materials is very difficult. I therefore tend to save whatever wrapping paper, ribbons, and any other odds and ends that I can so that I can use those for projects like this. The ribbons and paper in this book are all recycled from the baby shower, including the cards that people sent me from South Africa and The States. I made this book on a Thursday night while Justin was at soccer practice. For me, there’s nothing better than slipping into my “creative-bubble” and working away for hours. My 9 months pregnant body doesn’t completely allow me to sit in one position for too long, so while making this book I swelled up like a balloon in my ankles and feet. Oh well… It was worth it! I love my little Message Book, and I will enjoy looking at it in the future.
Here are a few more snapshots of some of the pages….
