Zhongshan Park Archway. Another glimpse at our Monday with Mari spent in Zhongshan Park. We had meandered through a floral garden, admired the Sun-wen Lotus Pond, walked amongst the tall trees of a tiny forest, and we needed a break so we stopped at a beautiful archway to rest. While we were there it started to rain but the flowers and branches growing along the top of the arch seemed to protect us from the droplets. Once again, we were blessed with a few moments were there were barely any people in sight – after living in China, you have no idea how precious those moments are – so we decided to take a few pictures.
Those walls weren’t high, but little man’s legs were juuuuuust a little too short. There was a lot of grunting and stretching, but he finally got up. Elijah is currently in the stage of walking on walls… which, FYI, I still love to do! So I guess it’s not so much a stage, but a way of life.
Above, the lovely Mariska! Apparently only two people call her by her full name. Me and her mother…hehehe!
Below, this is probably one of my favorite outfits for Elijah. It still fits okay but I can tell that any day now I am going to look again and it will be too small. Sometimes I put a shirt or pants on him, and it is ridiculously too short. My next thought is always… “How did that happen?” For that reason I am happy that I take SO MANY pictures. I absolutely LOVE looking back at them. This parenting thing is amazing, but honestly, time has never moved as quickly as it does in this stage of life!
This friendly Chinese man was over the moon about getting to hold Elijah. I just love how they adore children here. Since he has moved out his “run into the arms of absolute strangers” phase, he definitely played hard to get with this guy!
This is a wonderful resting spot in Zhongshan Park, and as you can see, a nice place to play and take pictures too. If you haven’t been to this area in the park, you should definitely check it out next time you are there.
